CBZ sisterhood

"No one is lonely when doing a mitzvah; for a mitzvah is where God and mortals meet."
--- Abraham J. Heschel

The B'nai Zion Southernmost Sisterhood is off to a wonderful start and wants to thank all those
who contributed so generously to our High Holiday Food Drive.
This was done in collaboration with Saint Mary Star of the Sea's Outreach Mission,
in order to help feed the local needy. It was the renewed Sisterhood's initial project - and a huge success!

Also, as a friendly reminder, we now have in the synagogue a permanent non-perishable, kosher,
food-donation basket for our ongoing food drive. So, please continue to donate generously.
Hunger knows no boundaries or time limits.

Based on the feedback we've received related to prioritizing future Sisterhood endeavors,
we will next be focusing on these two projects:
1) Visiting ill, recovering or isolated individuals;
2) Reorganizing the B'nai Zion Library.

If you're interested in becoming involved in either of these projects, please contact these individuals,
who've graciously volunteered to act as committee chairs:
1) Karen Leonard - Visits - 305-394-4048 (cell) or 305-293-8809 (home) ;
2) Simi Emanuel - Library - 305-731-3202 (cell) or 305-296-2931 (home).

Since many people are still out of town, we're planning to hold our second Sisterhood get-together in mid-January 2010
(tentative save-the-date: Wednesday, January 20th - more info will follow).

If anyone would like to host this meeting, please contact us.
Otherwise, Linda Rysman has graciously offered, once again, to host our meeting in her beautiful home.
Thank you, Linda!

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or comments. Thank you.
